What’s in a wine?

It takes special growing conditions to make memorable wines. The Chehalem Mountains are such a place.

This cool climate AVA (American Viticultural Area) has various soil types and elevations, ranging from 200 to 1600 feet, which dramatically impact the flavor profiles of the wines. You will find Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling, and Syrah within the Chehalem Mountains.

The Chehalem Mountains AVA is a prominent wine-growing region within Oregon’s Willamette Valley, known for its diverse soils, elevations, and microclimates. This is home to a wide range of wineries, including many small, boutique producers that emphasize craftsmanship and quality.

One of our signature wines is a Whole Cluster Pinot Noir, which is produced from 23-year-old vines from our estate vineyard’s oldest plantings. These grapes have matured and mellowed since their planting from 113, 114, Pommard, and Wädenswil clones. We believe in minimum intervention and use native yeast so the wines you taste are a true expression of our site.

Because the wine is fermented in clusters with stems the juice absorbs these layers of flavor to bring out interesting nuances that the site offers.

We are pleased to announce the release of our 2023 Whole Cluster Pinot Noir in June. This wine features aromas of strawberry, complemented by hints of spice and forest floor, with a lingering finish.

We invite you to visit us and our neighboring Chehalem Mountain wineries, many are family-owned and artisan producers. These smaller wineries provide intimate tasting experiences, where you can meet winemakers, explore unique blends, and enjoy breathtaking views of the valley.
